Hey guys!

The Power BI WORLD championship has begun. We're in the first round and there's still time to participate!

To find out more about the event, understand the rules and how everything works, on January 15th, at 5pm, Armando Lacerda and Luís Gustavo Nascimento Serra presented all the rules of the competition on the Microsoft Reactor channel and answered participants' questions about the process.

This competition will evaluate the best dashboard and crown the Dataviz world champion in Power BI.

  • The tournament will have 3 rounds, 1 round per week.
  • Each round will have an example PBIX file (with the semantic model and data) and everyone must use this same model.
  • You can create new measurements and add new data if you feel necessary.
  • Each round is independent, so if you don't compete or win a round, you can participate in the next round.
  • You can participate in 1, 2 or all 3 rounds. The more rounds you participate, the more chances you will have.
  • The winner of each round will be announced 1 week after the end of the round, and will be one of the 4 finalists who will compete in the championship final, IN PERSON during the Fabric Conference event, March 16th, in Atlanta, USA.
  • The 4th finalist, called Wildcart, will be decided by the judges 2 weeks after the end of the last round, where all other candidates will be re-evaluated to choose the best and participate in the final along with the other 3 finalists.
  • There are 4 evaluation criteria, all with the same weight: Storytelling, Visual effectiveness, Creativity and innovation, Accessibility.
