The 9th Meeting of the Local Group SQL Server ES is coming and it's really cool! This time, we will have as speakers the Fabrício Lima – MVP and me, Dirceu Resende.
This is an excellent opportunity to learn more about Power BI and Reporting Services, two BI solutions from Microsoft that are competitors, as they both do the same thing. But is that really it? In this talk, I will present these two tools and demonstrate the strengths and weaknesses of each of them, helping you define which one you should use in your company and in which scenarios.
Furthermore, MVP Fabrício Lima will show us how he improved 7 real queries from a client in a Tuning consultancy. Let's discuss together the step by step he followed and improve the query just by creating indexes, since it is a third-party application and we cannot change the queries. This base had 800 GB of compressed data (more than 2 TB if it had no compression).
